[The rustle of cloth and a faint, organic squishing noise.]

... I need a sword. I'd rather not face these at close range or waste kunai on them.

[Itachi's voice returns to a semblance of calm after a moment.]

Is there anyone here who makes or sells swords?

Okay, enough about our helplessness...Well I'm sure that I could tell you what if I were to sniff around, but that would have to wait a week or few.

I think the most... obvious job for those who can destroy things... is to destroy things. The two greatest problems I fear our group faces is monsters, which while they must be handled, are seemingly a never ending resource, and the amount of urban waste in the area.

Many of the buildings around here go completely unused, and the rebar, copper piping, and other building materials could be extremely useful in erecting and reinforcing the buildings that we do use.

And of course, there seems to be a tantalizing amount of useful things in the wastelands, if such areas can be tamed. I've been out there several times before, and there are always things that must be killed... These are probably the two things that men such as us would be best suited for.

I am not adverse to this idea. It will at least keep me busy for now. Wari-san has promised to forge me a sword once I bring the materials--and until the blade is finished I will still be quite able to fight.

It is not so different an occupation then I held previously.

Itachi just tests people a lot, and has no problem asking difficult questions, nor does he really care if people hate him for it.

Itachi knows there's things far worse then physical harm that can befall someone, one of his chief weapons is basically mental torture--he can defeat someone without leaving a single physical mark. So... He can understand if someone thinks there's worse things then being hurt.

Hm.

I know what--In my world cities are few and distantly spaced. Paving is rare and even in the largest cities asphalt isn't that common--usually flagstones or packed earth make up the streets.

It smells artificial.

I'll remember that. They would make a good food supply, likely.

I think I would balance my own diet as much as possible in this place, but if they are edible and nutritious I may make a point of utilizing them as a food source.
